Time and careers have taken Katie and Zach far from their Madison roots, but this pair of West High School Grads not only found each other, they celebrated their marriage in a beautiful backyard ceremony befitting their unique personalities.
They came back home from Denver for the wedding, held at her parent's backyard in Verona and created a wedding celebration that focused on fun, friends and family. Everything was perfect: a Beautiful cool summer day which as Katie promised showed not even the slightest hint of rain, a backyard decorated beautifully by Tiffany Golden at Polish Your Event, a horde of friends both local and from around the nation, a great Irish folk band that kept the dance floor hopping, and a ceremony as the sun set.
We love to photograph backyard weddings because the place is intimate and personal and everyone can feel at home--because it is home! But we loved this Madison wedding because it truly represented this great union of two individuals, from the two stunning dresses Katie chose for the day to photographing Zach getting ready at his parent's home, to the home-grown greenery that helped to decorate the reception. They had an unconventional timeline to allow their twilight ceremony and brought a great Irish folk and rock band, The Kissers. And their first dance song was performed beautifully by two close friends. They really owned every detail of the day, and we couldn't be happier to share it.
There will be a lot more of this wedding to show, but for now enjoy this little sneak peek.
